Paul Tear has over 40 years of furniture making/restoration experience.
Beginning as an apprentice, Paul became enthused about the restoration process and soon worked his way up to head conservator for The Wallace Collection where his focus was on 18th Century French furniture.
After leaving The Wallace Collection, Paul turned his attention to teaching others his prized skills. He immediately took on the responsibilities as head tutor of the BA course in Furniture Conservation at Bucks New University in High Wycombe – the centre for furniture making in England. He has continued his support for preserving English heritage through his work for several local landmarks including The Wilton House, St. Mary’s Church in Beaconsfield and Waddesdon Manor near Aylesbury.
We are please to have Paul as a Principal Tutor at Wooburn Craft School Ltd. where he will teach our Saturday short courses in Furniture Restoration, helping students turn their family heirlooms into prized possessions they can be proud to display and use. Paul’s extensive experience shows in all the ‘tricks’ that he can pass on to his students.
